"Study
on Electron Spin Dynamics and Its Applications"
Jianfeng Zhang,
Duke University
This talk opens with a brief introduction about the spin of an electron and the polarization of an electron beam; then it goes to the essential part of SLIM, i.e., the coupling between the electron orbit motion and the electron spin motion; and then shows several results of electron polarization, which are stimulated using SLIM. The second part of this talk is about a novel method to estimate the electron beam polarization. With the new method, the beam polarization is measured on Duke storage ring, the experiment result is close to the theoretical prediction, which is estimated by SLIM. The third part of this talk is about the application of electron polarization. The method is using resonant depolarization to calibrate electron beam energy. The experiment principle and the experiment set up on Hefei light source are given out.
