Do We Need Better Synchrotron Light Sources?

Andreas Magerl
University of Erlangen-Nürnberg

Storage ring based synchrotron light sources offer today x-ray beams of excellent quality. Still, in the seminar some experiments will be presented which need to go beyond the present limits e. g. concerning the intrinsic time resolutions available at third generation sources. Next generation light sources based on the energy recovery principle with superconducting lincas will allow to overcome these limits.
