Agenda and Notes
1. Extended PIT Meeting (Resumption of Operations)
1:00 Goal for Meeting (Ginsburg)
Comments:
1:10 Experiment Requirements and Desires for next running periods (HALL APLs, Grames)
Document on Hall B Run Requirements (Tiefenback)
Hall C Run Requirements (Benesch)
Standard form Hall B Run Requirements (Tiefenback)
Standard form Hall C Run Requirements (Benesch)
Comments: Test early at 300 muA will bge tried. A High current (150 muA) 1 pass running. Not too much stress! 30 muA to C is a target max. A could run at lower energy with benefit. High current parity quality. trip interaction with target not bad. Question, stability of the match into hal depends on the gradient distribution. Two hours up to several days to correct. can pre-prepare matches. 10.6 GeV needed to get beyond a physics threshold. 10.5 not good enough. energy in slide. Target faults.
Camille requested a "similar" requirements table be provided for all Halls. Here is a tech note from 31 March 2018 summarizing expected requirements for all Halls at the time
12 GeV Beam Parameter Tables (Benesch, et al.)
1:25 Performance Expectations in Relocated Modules (Drury)
Expected Performance After CM Swaps (Drury)
1:50 RF Configuration after SAD (Hovater)
Comments: Expectations for NL07 gradient 35-40 MeV energy gain from meeting discussion. This means a net gain of 25-30 MeV. NL07 will have new LLRF system (LCLS-II like). Gradients, from an RF point of view, are likely not limited at low average current. Because of power limitations at high current (the near-term program max is 300 muA total average current), the cavities running above about 10 MV/m may have to be turned down. This effect included in energy estimate above.
Second Day of Meeting on 10-14-2019
