The Small Isochronous Ring project at NSCL: first experimental results

Eduard Pozdeyev
CASA, JLab

The Small Isochronous Ring (SIR) has been developed at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) at Michigan State University (MSU). The main objectives of the project are experimental studies of space charge effects in the isochronous regime and validation of space charge codes. The talk describes results of commissioning of the ring. It also presents results of the first experiments with intense beams.
