CASA Seminar
Two topics will be discussed: First a novel technique to measure the longitudinal density profile will be introduced. The technique is based on the nonlinear mixing of incoherent beam radiation with laser radiation. This technique was developed at LBNL for application at LHC but is also well suited for TEVATRON, RHIC, and synchrotron radiation sources (i.e. ALS, APS, etc.) with multiple bunches in a storage ring. Second, measurement of the longitudinal profile of a single short bunch using the fluctuation of incoherent radiation will be described.
