Overview of the Fundamentals of Superconductivity and Cavities - Part I

Jean Delayen
JLab

The mini-series originated from the presentations made to Dave Sutter and Bruce Strauss back in December 2001. It is intended as a short introduction to the physics and concepts underlying SRF accelerators, namely superconduuctivity and electromagnetic cavities.

Part I will cover phenomenological, pre-BCS theories of superconductivity with an emphasis on thermodynamic and electromagnetic properties.
