RF Picosecond Timing Technique Based on Secondary Electron Emission

Amour Margaryan
JLab

A new picosecond timing technique for heavy ions based on RF analysis of secondary electrons will be discussed. This novel timing technique may find applications in nuclear physics experiments, as well as in other fields, e.g. ultrashot bunch diagnostics, picosecond Cherenkov detectors etc. The technique opens a possibility for a new kinnd of hypernuclear spectroscopy - Auger neutron spectroscopy at CEBAF.
