Stead-state, high power, broadband THz radiation generation via coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR) in a storage ring has been demonstrated at BESSY II. We investigate the potential of ring-based THz source using the MIT-Bates South Hall Ring (SHR) which is equipped with a unique s-band RF system. Results of initial test and proposed R & D plan are presented.
