Status of the Thomson X-ray program
Jim Boyce JLab
The Jefferson Lab X-ray program continues its evolution from a “curiosity
experiment” at the FEL to a full fledged user program. I will discuss
three relatively major developments:
Calculations showing a high brightness x-ray source using the main
CEBAF accelerator,
Pump(IR)-probe(X-rays) possibilities with the FEL Upgrade machine
and initial experiment design, and
a new concept for a “two color” Thomson X-ray generator.
A collaboration between JLab/LLNL/Columbia University will also be described.
