Whither SL21 and NL11 will Take us

Over the next 2 years there will be two new cryomodules installed in the CEBAF linacs. One is the first to have 7-cell cavities (vs the present 5-cell cavities); the second is the prototype for the 100 MV units needed for the 12 GeV upgrade. Each will provide substantially more voltage than the cryomodules they replace. The available RF power will, in the end, determine the actual extension of CEBAF's reach (beam current and energy) for physics research. Exploitation of that RF power will required development of ancillary procedures and/or hardware. The issues involved will be presented as will the potential performance of CEBAF.
